door broke after only having 1 1/2 years and there are no replacement parts. Since it is built into my brand new house, I have to reorder the same microwave. Cannot believe that whirlpool won't stand behind their product.

I purchased a new home that came with all whirlpool products. My microwave went out within a month of use. I filed a warranty claim. They have rescheduled numerous times. I have been without a microwave for over 4 months waiting on the to show up. My wife took off work every day they scheduled repair costing my family more money. I asked for solutions; however, customer service tells me I just have to continue to wait. No more whirlpool for me.

Stopped working after 15 months

I thought this would be a great replacement for my old microwave which lasted for 15 years. Nope. This stopped working entirely after 15 months. Whirlpool did not offer any support - just a 20% coupon to buy another piece of garbage that will stop working in another 15 months. I believe this machine is defective/has a glitch. I would not reccomend this product and I would not reccomend Whirlpool's customer service as they do not stand behind their poorly made products.

Efficient and Effective Microwave

We have had many microwaves in the last ten years - cheap ones, top of the line, high end, etc. However, our new Whirlpool microwave is the best one we have had yet. First, I love the safety feature of having to unlock it before opening it up. With young children this is a thoughtful and appreciated feature. Second, it heats up things quick and thoroughly. Our last microwave took two minutes to heat up a cold cup of coffee, this one takes 30 seconds. We are very impressed with this microwave and highly recommend it.

This is one of the most annoying microwaves I've ever used. First of all, you can't just set the time you want by pushing the number buttons. The number buttons are for setting minutes only. How are you supposed to set a specific number of seconds? For example, you can't set it to 9 seconds or 32 seconds or 90 seconds. It is impossible. So you have to set it to 15 or 30 seconds or 2 minutes, and stand there and count the seconds and stop it manually when it has run the amount of time you want. You can't even set it to 1 minute and 20 seconds. It has to be 15 or 30 second increments. When I tried using the + and - buttons, it added or subtracted some random number of seconds that I couldn't control - like maybe 3? or 2? or 4? It's not even the same number of seconds each time. And if you want to add 30 seconds while it's running, good luck with that! Also, the popcorn button is set for a minimum of 3 minutes. That's way too long for a mini bag. How about giving me the option of 1 minute & 20 seconds for a mini bag or 3 minutes for a regular size bag. I always use the mini bags, so what good is that button for me. It's just taking up extra real estate that I can't use. And what ever happened to the sensor cooking? Why doesn't the popcorn button sense when the popcorn is ready and stop itself?! So far, I'm not impressed at all.
